Description
We're looking for Sr. Keynote Presentation Designers to join the creative team producing a developer keynote at a major technology company's flagship event. These roles go beyond execution - you'll be a key creative partner who transforms raw outlines and complex technical content into compelling, clear, and visually powerful presentation narratives. The ideal candidate doesn't just design slides - they think in story flow, proactively shape how information is structured and sequenced, and have a talent for distilling complex topics into digestible, audience-ready moments. You work with confidence across multiple workstreams, chase down the information and assets you need without waiting to be asked, and synthesize feedback from numerous stakeholders with clarity and composure. You thrive in a fast pace, deadline-driven production environment and take pride in both the craft and the thinking behind it.
Responsibilities
Translate content outlines and briefs into presentation flows - proposing structure, sequencing, and pacing that best serve the narrative and audience.
Conceptualize and design approaches for communicating complex technical topics, data, and product stories in clear, visually engaging ways.
Design keynote presentation slides and visual assets within an established design system and art direction.
Build and refine speaker support slides, data visualizations, product screenshots, diagrams, and transitional graphics.
Execute designs in Keynote (Apple), ensuring pixel-perfect quality and adherence to technical specs for stage and broadcast.
Synthesize feedback from multiple stakeholders - creative leads, producers, speakers, and cross-functional partners - incorporating input decisively while maintaining design integrity.
Proactively source, request, and follow up on content, assets, and approvals needed to keep workstreams moving forward.
Collaborate with the art director, producers, and fellow designers to maintain visual consistency across all deliverables.
Prepare and organize design files for handoff to motion designers and editorial teams.
Participate in design reviews and actively contribute ideas to elevate the overall creative quality and storytelling.
Manage own workload and timelines, proactively communicating status, flagging blockers, and driving solutions.
QA all deliverables prior to final delivery, ensuring accuracy and technical quality.
Support on‑site needs during rehearsals and show day as needed.
Experience & Skills
5-8+ years of design experience, with demonstrated work on keynote presentations or large-format event content – keynote experience is required.
Proven ability to take a content outline or brief and independently develop a presentation flow, recommending structure, hierarchy, and visual storytelling approaches.
Strong information design instincts – skilled at breaking down complex, technical, or data-heavy topics into clear, compelling visuals.
Expert proficiency with Keynote (Apple) – non‑negotiable requirement.
Strong skills in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
Excellent layout, typography, and composition skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work within and extend an existing design system while maintaining consistency.
Motion design within Keynote (animations, builds, transitions) is a strong bonus.
Highly proactive and self‑directed – anticipates needs, chases down information, and drives workstreams forward.
Skilled at navigating multi‑stakeholder feedback, making smart design decisions, and communicating rationale clearly.
Comfortable with fast turnaround times, iterative feedback cycles, and shifting priorities.
Portfolio that showcases keynote or presentation design work – especially examples of translating complex content into clear visual narratives – strongly preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with After Effects for light animation work.
Experience designing for stage, LED, or broadcast environments.
Experience working within large-scale design systems across multiple designers.
Familiarity with data visualization design and infographic storytelling.
Comfort with generative AI tools in the design workflow.
