
Interior Designer - Residential Remodeling

The Designer leads our projects with clients from conception all the way through the completed project, guiding them through the interior design process and all the required selections. The designer works with the clients to understand their wants and needs and meet their requirements while keeping within budget and guiding them throughout the entire product selection process to create a beautiful and functional space. Additionally, the designer will be responsible for all cabinetry design, including custom built-in closet systems.
Responsibilities
Guide clients through the selection process, and assist in the design and selection with external vendors
Design and order all cabinetry
Design and order all tile layouts
Manage ongoing projects as they relate directly to the design and selection of items
Oversee several projects at once
Create and execute design concepts to fully complete plans for kitchen, baths, closet systems, and tile design layouts, including space planning, design details, and full product selections
Maintain details of all product selections in management software and job folders, while keeping clients updated on budget expenditures, visiting job sites during construction to assist the production department in ensuring design implementation
Schedule, meet deadlines, and monitor time budgets on your own projects
Meet with clients to maintain selection process timelines ensuring the production department has what they need
Maintain selections/showroom and keep it in order for client visits
Keep track of all orders as it pertains to selections and the delivery of the same
Check in cabinet deliveries
Attend weekly production meetings
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Qualifications
Deliver high-quality creative designs to the clientele
Self‑motivated and detail oriented
Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills
5+ years of kitchen/bath design experience utilizing Chief Architect design software or similar software
Experience in residential remodeling or home building atmosphere
Certified kitchen designer preferred, but not required
Knowledge of cabinetry construction and interior design space planning
Understanding of residential construction and architectural planning
Ability to read architectural plans
Understand purchasing process—can select, order, and track various orders
Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal, specifically with clients and contractors
Strong attention to detail
Super creative and think outside the box
Ability to prepare and follow through on necessary paperwork related to the design and sale
Ability to be proactive and problem‑solve
Creative and confident with a friendly demeanor
Must represent the company with professionalism and integrity at all times
Present in a professional and expert manner with a high level of service
Must be organized and detail-oriented to meet deadlines in order to keep construction jobs on schedule and running smoothly
Ability to work effectively with clients, team members, vendors, and subcontractors
Must be a team player who has a positive attitude
Ability to measure accurately and basic drafting skills are needed
Strong computer skills: Chief Architect, Microsoft Office Excel, Internet savvy, a must
Compensation
$52,000 - $75,000 per year
