Works independently and directs less experienced personnel to perform a variety of tasks associated with technical work within the Plans and Operations Directorate, providing photographic technical advice and set up for a variety of test operations and similar type tasks across the Command.
Duties and Responsibilities
Performs standardized or prescribed assignments and follows standard work methods on recurring assignments
Receives explicit instructions on unfamiliar assignments and is subject to a review of the technical adequacy of all work
Actively participates to ensure personal safety, team safety, visitor safety, and end user safety in accordance with policy, standard operating procedures, and locally identified hazard mitigation requirements
May be called upon to mentor other photographers of the same or lesser grade on techniques and process improvements
The work requires the use of protective equipment and clothing
Duties include development of project plans, outlines procedures and issues, gathers data, analyzes and assists in interpreting data and reports
Coordinates issues pertaining to compliance and corrective actions, determines the use of special-purpose cameras and related equipment for assignments
Conceives and plans the technical photographic effects desired by operating officials and discusses modifications and improvements to their original ideas in light of the potential and limits of the equipment. Typical examples of equipment that require set up and use include specialized still and video cameras, airborne systems, single or dual camera multiple high-speed imaging systems, electronic timing and triggering devices, complicated timing and triggering equipment; precise photographic measurement and control equipment; synchronized stroboscopic (interval) light sources, and/or timed electronic triggering; and arranges and uses cameras operating at several thousand frames per second.
Uses mathematical image analysis software to provide two (2)- dimensional scoring of impact locations, calculate pitch, yaw, and velocity of various test projectiles
Responsible for the live streaming of test data to internal and external locations
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications
3 year applicable experience; or at least 60 credit hours or an Associate’s Degree and one year applicable experience; or 30 credit hours and two (2) year applicable experience; or completion of a formal training program and one (1) year applicable experience
Specific Equipment Requirements for each Contractor Man Year Equivalent: 4x2 Cargo Van, Max payload 4,282, V6,rear door windows, back up camera (Chevrolet Express Cargo Van equivalent) suitable to transport personnel and equipment
Physical Qualifications
The work of this position is performed in the field where you are subject to the environment and sometimes in an environmentally controlled office environment
Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time.
Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time
Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted
Must be able to climb ladders safely
Must be capable of kneeling, squatting, bending and standing while performing duties
Must be able to distinguish colors
Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions
