Overview
Labatt Food Service seeks a Produce Marketing Specialist to buy and sell fresh produce through the company’s sales force. The position involves learning all aspects of the produce business, including technical product knowledge from growing regions around the world, sourcing product from manufacturers and brokers, and selling produce through sales representatives to a large customer base. The role works directly with the Produce Manager and provides the opportunity to learn an entire business within a business, including separate P&L performance measurement. The position involves developing technical product expertise on all produce vendor lines. Sales and marketing plans are developed and executed to grow these lines through the existing 3500+ company customers.
Responsibilities
Buy and sell fresh produce through the company’s sales force; learn all aspects of the produce business; source product from manufacturers and brokers; sell products through sales representatives to a large customer base; develop and execute sales and marketing plans to grow produce lines; work with the Produce Manager and contribute to P&L performance measurement; develop technical product expertise on all produce vendor lines.
Qualifications
College degree in RHIM, Marketing, or a business-related field. Bachelor’s degree required.
Food service and/or produce experience preferred.
Ability to communicate effectively with food service directors, chefs, managers, and owners through one-on-one meetings, presentations, and correspondence.
Good time management and strong interpersonal skills.
Microsoft Office expertise mandatory.
Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
