Amerisure is recruiting for an Underwriting Assistant to join our team! This role will be hybrid 3 days a week in the office & 2 from home.
POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for supporting the underwriting team by gathering, verifying, and organizing data from policyholder applications, financial records, and other supporting documents. A high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure accurate underwriting decisions are made.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect, review, and process financial records and other documentation needed for the underwriting process.
Assist in gathering additional information at the request of underwriting partners.
Organize and maintain client files, ensuring that all required documentation is accurate, complete, and up to date.
Support the underwriting team with administrative tasks such as document organization and report preparation.
Collaborate with agency partners to collect compliance documents and address inquiries from agencies and insureds.
Assess risk by accurately completing Amerisure's underwriting risk assessment tools.
Recognize discrepancies or missing information in applications and take steps to address and resolve the issues.
Maintain accurate records of data.
Learn and adhere to underwriting guidelines and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or GED.
Experience in the insurance industry, financial services, customer service or administration, preferred.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi‑task and prioritize workload.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers.
Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated successful ability to input data with a high accuracy rating, and strong attention to detail.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to travel occasionally, less than 5%.
