Responsibilities and Duties of the Role
Create and publish digital content for all ABC11’s digital platforms, including 24/7 streaming, VOD and CTV.
Create and curate compelling, SEO‑optimized content while demonstrating strong writing, editing, and multitasking skills to effectively increase audience engagement.
Collaborate with the assignment desk, newsroom staff to coordinate breaking news and daily news coverage, special projects, and company‑wide initiatives.
Use audience analytics in real time to optimize content performance, ensuring accuracy, speed, and relevance.
Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Training
Minimum of 2+ years of digital content experience, preferably in a newsroom, with strong editorial judgment and proficiency in AP Style.
Excellent writing, communication, and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to perform effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment both independently and collaboratively.
Technical proficiency in basic HTML, with experience in video editing (Adobe Premiere) and newsroom systems (e.g., Dalet) preferred.
Must be flexible to work varied hours, including nights and weekends, fully on‑site.
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, minimum of 2‑3 years of experience that includes producing online content. Advanced degree is a plus.
Compensation:
The hiring range for this position in Durham, NC is $46,900 – $62,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long‑term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
