Job Summary The Admissions Recruiter & Social Media Coordinator blends traditional recruitment strategies with a heavy emphasis on digital engagement to attract, engage, and enroll prospective students. The role is divided 50/50 between managing a recruitment territory and overseeing the university’s admissions-focused social media presence. This position requires flexibility, including availability for evenings and weekends, and occasional out-of-state travel for recruitment events.
Responsibilities Admissions Social Media & Digital Communications (50%)
Develop, curate, and publish engaging original content (text, photos, videos, stories) across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X.
Create and manage a comprehensive social media calendar aligned with the admissions cycle and key events.
Act as a frontline brand ambassador by monitoring and responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
Monitor engagement and web traffic metrics, analyze data, and provide reports with strategic recommendations.
Collaborate on paid social media and digital advertising campaigns, including budget management and A/B testing.
Assist with maintaining and updating admissions-related pages on the institutional website.
Stay current with latest social media trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Admissions Recruitment & Counseling (50%)
Manage an assigned recruitment territory to achieve enrollment goals, including high school visits, college fairs, and presentations.
Initiate and maintain consistent contact with prospective students, applicants, and families via phone, email, social media, and in-person meetings.
Evaluate and assess applications for admission and scholarships to determine eligibility.
Plan and participate in on-campus and off-campus recruitment events such as open houses, campus tours, and information sessions.
Maintain accurate records of all student interactions and application statuses within the CRM software.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required.
Valid state-issued driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Proven experience creating and managing content across various social media platforms is essential.
Experience in higher education admissions or student services is a plus.
Proposed Salary $48,500.00 – $52,500.00 per year.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for all audiences.
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, and database/CRM systems (e.g., Slate, Blackbaud).
Familiarity with web analytics and social media management/scheduling tools.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
