ImpactAlpha Inc., New York, NY, United States

About MFV Partners

MFV Partners is an early‑stage deep tech venture capital firm backing the science and engineering that will define the next industrial cycle. They invest across Physical AI & Robotics, Quantum Computing, Semiconductors, and Climate & Energy. Their portfolio includes category‑defining companies like PsiQuantum (optical quantum computing), Agility Robotics (humanoid robots), and Rescale (high‑performance computing). MFV’s energy and climate investments include Sun Mobility (battery swap for EVs), Conifer (next‑generation EV powertrains), and several startups still in stealth mode, with an expanding book across batteries, grid, data center energy, and industrial decarbonization. Additionally, MFV oversees Harper Court Ventures, a pre‑seed fund raised and managed in collaboration with the University of Chicago to support deep tech companies emerging from its labs. About this Role

MFV Partners is seeking a senior leader to expand its energy and climate deep tech practice. The role requires technical depth to evaluate electrochemistry, power electronics, and industrial processes, coupled with commercial and investment instincts to distinguish real businesses from mere interesting science. This position will involve writing checks, sourcing, leading diligence on, and recommending new investments in energy and climate deep tech startups. Post‑investment, the leader will work with founders to assist them in scaling their businesses. Title and compensation will be set commensurate with experience, with a clear path to partnership at the firm. Responsibilities

Develop and own investment theses across various categories. Build relationships and source opportunities ahead of the market. Lead technical and commercial diligence on investment deals. Bring deals to the investment committee for approval. Work directly with founders on business milestones. Contribute to portfolio reporting and communications. Shape MFV’s fund strategy and represent the firm in the community. Requirements

Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related fields. Operating or commercialization experience in energy or deep tech companies. 3+ years of direct investing experience in relevant fields. Demonstrated judgment on technical, commercial, and execution risk. Strong communication and financial modeling skills. Conviction in the energy transition as an investment category. Benefits

Opportunity to work with a notable portfolio. Investment based on fundamentals rather than trends. Generous carried interest and defined track to partnership.
