
Small Commercial Property Underwriter

We are seeking a talented individual to join ICAT's underwriting team as a Small Commercial Property Underwriter. This role will be based in
Broomfield, CO.
This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
In this role, you will evaluate and underwrite property insurance for small businesses located in earthquake- and hurricane-prone areas of the U.S., applying ICAT's underwriting standards to assess risk, determine pricing, and structure coverage to retain and grow business.
We will count on you to:
Underwrite and price accounts in accordance with ICAT's underwriting standards.
Meet annual production goals set for the team and department within required risk metrics.
Review and approve inspection review findings and recommendations on bound accounts.
Demonstrate a proficient understanding of ICAT's forms, endorsements, and rating methodology.
Support and grow assigned producer relationships by providing ongoing customer service and problem solving.
Effectively negotiate and sell on ICAT's behalf.
What you need to have:
2+ years of progressive underwriting experience in property insurance, or a bachelor's degree in insurance, risk management, or finance.
Knowledge of commercial property forms, pricing, and rating methodology, modeling, and valuation tools.
Strong verbal and written communication including formal and informal presentation skills.
Analytical aptitude; critical thinking.

3+ years of progressive underwriting experience with agency management experience within the commercial insurance industry.
Working towards CPCU or other insurance designation.

Base Salary and Benefits The applicable base salary range for this role is $53,800 to $114,600. In addition to base pay, this position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives.
