Our Industrial Building Group (IBG) is seeking several skilled BIM/Revit Designers to create and implement comprehensive building design deliverables. The successful candidate will develop and manage multi-discipline 3D models and detailed construction documents. The role supports projects across Power, Industrial, Water, Infrastructure, and Services sectors and involves collaboration with cross-functional teams from concept through completion. You will work at the intersection of architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, and process systems to produce models and drawings that support EPC delivery for power, industrial, manufacturing, water, and mission-critical facilities. Location
This full-time role is based in Lenexa, KS, Houston, TX, and Lone Tree, CO offices. The role supports a dynamic, technology-enabled BIM/design environment. Flexible work arrangements are encouraged where feasible, while maintaining a strong collaborative culture.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute detailed multi-discipline project design deliverables using Revit, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
Build and maintain discipline-specific and multi-discipline BIM models for Industrial buildings (structural steel, concrete, architectural elements, equipment layouts, MEP and utility systems). Generate plans, sections, details, isometrics, shop drawings, and quantity takeoffs; perform clash detection and model reviews; coordinate with engineering/architectural disciplines to resolve conflicts early.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other designers as part of an integrated project team to achieve design goals efficiently.
Perform rigorous quality assurance/control on all deliverables in line with company standards and industry best practices.
Contribute to the enhancement and upkeep of BIM/Revit processes, tools, and standards to optimize workflows; uphold Kiewit BIM standards and quality control across project phases.
Support understanding of Kiewit’s design-build processes, enabling seamless integration between engineering, design, and construction teams.
Communicate design progress and challenges clearly to project leads and stakeholders to facilitate informed decisions.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with BIM and industrial design trends and technologies.
Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in drafting/design, engineering technology, architecture, or related field; minimum 3 years of BIM/Revit design experience in industrial, power, water, manufacturing, oil/gas/chemical, Biopharma, healthcare, mission-critical facilities, or similar industrial facilities; or 6+ years of experience in lieu of a degree. Experience creating floor plans, elevations, sections, details, 3D views, renderings; knowledge of walls, roofs, doors, windows, rooms, and architectural systems (HVAC, Plumbing, duct work, ventilation, etc.).
Proven experience with Navisworks for clash detection and 3+ years of Revit experience in industrial projects; experience developing and maintaining BIM standards, templates, and libraries.
Industry knowledge in Power, Water, and Food & Beverage is advantageous.
Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and foster an inclusive, respectful environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with active listening and problem-solving abilities.
Self-motivated with a positive outlook and the ability to inspire and collaborate to achieve objectives.
Commitment to high quality and safety standards in line with Kiewit values and policies.
Experience on EPC or design-build projects and BIM models for construction is preferred.
Knowledge of industrial building components (structural steel, concrete, architectural elements, equipment layouts, utility routing, and building systems).
Ability to interpret sketches/engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment data sheets, and vendor models.
Working Conditions
This role is primarily office-based within a modern design environment; occasional site visits or meetings at project locations may occur. Standard hours apply, with flexibility to meet deadlines. Compensation and Benefits
Base Compensation: $73,000 - $115,000
(Actual compensation varies by education, experience, skillset, and location.)
