Position Overview
Adams, Massachusetts seeks an experienced, energetic professional to lead the Community Development Department, enhancing community quality of life and stimulating business development.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the multi‑disciplined Community Development Department.
Conduct policy analysis and develop/evaluate programs.
Manage projects and coordinate multiple complex issues.
Identify and utilize local, state, and federal programs, initiatives, and financial resources to advance the Town’s development objectives.
Write and manage grants for community and economic development.
Supervise subordinate personnel and collaborate with town officials, governmental representatives, community groups, and the public.
Qualifications
Experience in community/economic development concepts, urban and regional planning principles, and land use regulations.
Experience in policy analysis, program development and evaluation, and project management.
Effective grant‑writing experience.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Ability to multitask, set goals, and use strategic planning.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
Capacity to work in a teamwork environment and establish harmonious working relationships.
