Hiring Rate: $20.00 per hour
Nature & Purpose: To support the American Democracy Project (ADP) as part of the Center for Community Engagement (CCE), in graphic design and social media management including civic engagement work at Sam Houston State University (SHSU).

Graphic Design & Social Media Duties

Design, organize, and manage graphics for print and digital materials, including flyers, social media posts, and other marketing material.

Manage and schedule social media posts.

Assist with video production—filming, editing, and adding graphics or effects to create engaging content.

Stay updated on design trends and social media best practices.

Civic Engagement Duties

Meet planning deadlines and act as an active spokesperson.

Assist in planning and conducting deliberative dialogue events.

Assist in planning and conducting civic professional development at SHSU.

Carry out voter education activities at SHSU.

Complete orientations, weekly timesheets, and regular check‑ins with ADP/CCE, campus partners, and county/state
ational affiliates.

Participate in professional development associated with civic engagement and campus initiatives (e.g., leadership, skill‑building, election law training, historical‑context discussion blocks, deliberative dialogues, moderation, perspectives, discussion blocks).

Complete written reflections and attend reflection meetings.

Contribute to the collection and dissemination of promotion/imagery of events via social media.

Attend campus, local, and potentially regional/state
ational meetings to learn new skills, discuss issues, and network with other students and organizations passionate about civic engagement.

Other duties as assigned.
