Nonprofit Connect, Kansas City, MO, United States
Position Title:
Marketing Coordinator
Organization:
KC Shepherd's Center
Location:
Kansas City, Missouri (64114)
Reports To:
Director of Marketing
Status:
Full-Time, $40,000 - $50,000 per year plus generous benefit package
For more than 50 years, KC Shepherd's Center has operated as a senior center without walls. Our core mission is to honor our elders by celebrating, empowering and serving older adults. We serve more than 3,000 older adults in our community, reducing social isolation, providing opportunities for engagement, daily well‑checks and nutritious meals to homebound seniors. We offer wraparound services that help older adults remain independent in their homes—all thanks to a small but mighty team and our volunteer‑led programs and community partnerships.
Older adults, like all other groups, are not a monolith. At KC Shepherd's Center, we live two truths every day: seniors can be active and engaged and can also require our care and support to live safely and independently in the place they call home. It is a privilege as an organization and through our marketing and communication strategies to share with our community the wonderful and amazing older adults we serve, their stories, accomplishments – the richness of who they are. It is also our responsibility to support and advocate for all older adults, especially those who are marginalized or may need our care and support.
What You'll Do / Responsibilities
In coordination with the Director of Marketing, plan, design and execute all marketing campaigns for KCSC, programs, events and development opportunities.
Identify and develop content, compelling stories and messaging that align, enhance and positively reflect the organization's strategic priorities, brand standards, image and communication objectives.
Ensure messaging is timely and consistently integrated across all channels (traditional, internal and external), digital marketing platforms (website, mass and social media) and with community partners and organizations.
Organize, maintain and catalog intellectual properties, digital content, media articles, photos, videos, etc.
Manage and maintain inventory of marketing collaterals, promotional and giveaway items.
Track key marketing metrics, website and social media traffic and overall campaign performance.
Provide support to KCSC staff and volunteers to ensure success of the organization's events and programs.
Who We're Looking For
Take a moment to think about an older adult that’s special to you. If given the opportunity, what would you do – how would you go about encouraging our community to “level up” in demonstrating support for older adults? The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities is critical in this role.
Proven social media content creation and management experience, examples to be provided.
Proven experience with graphic design tools to create effective visuals (e.g., Canva, Adobe Acrobat), and email marketing platforms (e.g., Constant Contact). Donor and event management systems (e.g., Greater Giving) preferred.
Proven website development and management – plan, coordinate and manage content updates, design changes, and maintenance.
Experience in marketing, communications or a related role.
Demonstrated ability to execute marketing campaigns and produce content across multiple channels.
Strong writing and communication skills – ease at creating clear, effective marketing messages.
Previous experience supporting older adults and/or in a nonprofit environment is preferred.
