Position Summary
The Wellness Director leads and manages the Nursing Department, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local health regulations. The role supports the professional development of staff, oversees staffing and budget, maintains quality assurance, and ensures exceptional customer service and resident care.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Nursing Department.

Provide professional development and coaching to Assistant Wellness Director and clinical staff.

Ensure staffing levels, regulatory compliance, and standard adherence.

Create and maintain the monthly department schedule.

Oversee budgeting and ordering supplies for the Nursing Department.

Coordinate with the Business Office Manager for interviews, onboarding, and staff attendance monitoring.

Maintain on‑call schedules and staff assignments in ALIS.

Manage staff performance, attendance, and provide performance management.

Oversee Wellness Coach schedule and resident care activities.

Schedule and facilitate training, meetings, and quality assurance activities.

Prepare and review incident reports, regulatory filings, and admission/readmission charts.

Maintain medical records, conduct chart audits, and manage overflow medical records.

Follow up on internal investigations of theft, abuse, medication errors, and falls.

Maintain incidental billing and review monthly rent rolls for proper billing.

Assist with nursing care on the floor as needed.

Uphold Viva’s care models including Live More, Care Connect, Mosher Gardens Method, Think More, and No Fall Zone.

Requirements

Valid RN license for medication delegation per THHS regulations.

High school diploma or GED.

Strong interpersonal skills and compassion toward residents.

Proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

Ability to work well with peers and maintain the Resident Bill of Rights.

Compliance with attendance policies and employment terms.

Annual verification of a negative TB skin test.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Move intermittently throughout the workday.

Handle mental and emotional stress of the position.

Have adequate sight and hearing or suitable prosthetics.

Meet general health requirements, including a medical and physical examination.

Interact with ill, disabled, elderly, or emotionally upset residents.

Lift up to 25 pounds to a height of 5 feet and transport the weight up to 50 feet.

Assist in evacuation of residents during emergencies if needed.
