About the Job
Zyyo is seeking a Certified Public Accountant CPA (Real Estate Development) to join the firm’s real estate Investment, Development, and Accounting teams to support Zyyo’s rapid growth across multiple investment platforms. The CPA will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting process and ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of financial information for hospitality, office, residential, entertainment, and retail assets. The CPA will also create effective business processes and implement systems that can scale as Zyyo and its managed properties continue to grow.
Responsibilities
Maintain responsibility for the accuracy of property, construction and predevelopment accounting activity.
Track and ensure monthly financial statement packages for each property are complete and received from third-party property management accounting teams timely.
Lead YE tax return filing processes with 3rd party CPA firms for each property and portfolio entity at both the state and federal level.
Track property and construction financial activity, providing insight into any questions/inquiries regarding approved budgets.
Coordinate the upload of operational budgets and mid-year reforecasts for each property into internal accounting systems.
Assist with the preparation of all monthly draw packages.
Track accounts payable in a consistent and methodical manner and provide insight into implications for individual project budgets.
Lead the efforts in the accounting onboarding process for new projects, including establishing proper accounting and reporting guidelines.
Communicate effectively and build partnerships with third parties always representing Wedgewood in a professional manner.
Lead or contribute to other ad-hoc investment reporting tasks.
Assist with the preparation of monthly portfolio-level reporting, including the calculation of key performance indicators and metrics from the property financial statements.
Ensure that all property-related entities are in compliance with local and federal regulations.
Future Responsibilities
Take on responsibilities related to Finance & Operational Activities at the firm.
Oversee the growth of the Accounting Team.
Qualifications
PA certified required.
4+ years of Real Estate Accounting experience.
Self-starter who takes the initiative to produce high-quality work products.
Highly motivated individual who enjoys problem-solving and has a strong work ethic.
Strong organization skills with the ability to multitask.
Experience in managing tight reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Sage, Yardi, & Quickbooks.
