Founding Growth Marketer (US)
VESSL AI, San Francisco, CA, United States
AI researchers spend more time fighting for compute than doing research. Quota walls, rigid contracts, and fragmented supply across clouds and clusters mean teams are stuck waiting on a single provider that can't meet their needs.
VESSL AI was built to fix that. We provision and route GPU capacity across multiple clusters and providers, giving AI teams one platform to access, scale, and manage compute, from a single GPU to thousands. Multi‑provider procurement so you're never locked to one source. Full‑stack cluster operations from build to production. Deep domain expertise in large‑scale training optimization.
We serve top research labs, academic institutions, AI startups, and enterprise teams globally. Founded in Seoul, South Korea, now expanding to San Francisco. Series A, ~40 people, scaling from 3,000 to 10,000 GPUs by Q4 2026.
About the Role
You will be growth hire #1 in the US. There is no marketing team, no existing demand gen engine, no playbook. You will build the system that makes VESSL known to every AI/ML infrastructure buyer in the US.
This is a single‑owner role. PLG growth is yours. You own paid acquisition, content, SEO, email, and community presence. You will use AI tooling as a force multiplier to operate at the output level of a team 3x your size. If you need someone to hand you a content calendar or approve your campaigns, this isn't the role.
Everything you build is net new. Every sign‑up, every qualified lead, every campaign that converts is yours. You'll see your work hit pipeline within weeks, not quarters. And as the growth function scales, you'll be the one who shaped it from day one.
You'll work with the US GTM Lead and the rest of the US GTM team to build VESSL's US presence from scratch.
What You'll Own
In your first 90 days, you'll build VESSL's US demand generation engine from zero. By month 3, you'll have paid channels live, a content cadence running, and a clear view of what's converting and what's not. By month 6, you'll own a repeatable system that is generating qualified pipeline independently.
Growth Infrastructure
Set up attribution, conversion tracking, and reporting from scratch. This is how we know what's working. Without it, everything else is guessing. Build the data layer, automate what can be automated, and make every dollar and hour accountable.
Demand Generation
Build and run paid search, paid social, and SEO programs targeting AI/ML engineers, research computing leads, and AI infrastructure buyers. Own top‑of‑funnel: from first impression to sign‑up.
PLG Growth
Own what happens after sign‑up. Activation, conversion, retention. Run landing page experiments, onboarding optimization, and activation campaigns on cloud.vessl.ai. You care about sign‑up to first GPU job, not just sign‑up.
Content Engine
Build the content strategy that drives inbound demand. LinkedIn (ghostwriting + brand), technical blog amplification, case studies, email newsletters, event collateral. You write like a practitioner, not a marketer.
Events & Community
Represent VESSL at conferences, meetups, and developer events. Build community presence in the spaces where AI/ML infrastructure buyers spend time.
AI as a Multiplier
Use AI tools (Claude, automation platforms, scripting) to produce creative at scale, analyze campaigns, and compress workflows. You're not afraid of a terminal. You see AI as the way a single person builds what used to take a team. We give you unlimited Claude Code tokens. The stage is yours.
Who We Expect
You have 3 to 5 years in growth marketing, ideally at a B2B SaaS, developer tools, or infrastructure company.
You are a builder at heart. You've built a growth function or channel from scratch before, with limited resources and high ambiguity, and you can point to the before and after.
You have a track record in PLG environments. You think about activation, not just acquisition.
You think in funnels, test in experiments, and report in metrics. You know how to set up paid acquisition, measure attribution, and build lifecycle campaigns. You can write copy that AI/ML engineers and infrastructure buyers actually read. You don't need to come in knowing GPU infrastructure, cloud compute, or distributed training inside out, but you'll need to learn fast. The buyers you're reaching are technical and they'll know if you're not.
You're AI‑native or close to it. You've already shipped work using AI tools that would have taken a team without them.
On‑site in San Francisco. We believe the fastest way to build from zero is together, in the room.
Bonus: You've marketed to AI/ML engineers, research labs, academic institutions, or infrastructure buyers before. You've worked at a company where the product was technical and the buyer was an engineer.
What We Offer
The range we've posted represents the typical compensation range for this role. To determine actual compensation, we review the market rate for each candidate which can include a variety of factors. These include qualifications, experience, interview performance.
