Job Summary
Cone Bioproducts is seeking a dynamic, results-focused Sales & Customer Service Leader (Business Development Associate) to drive revenue growth and support operational excellence. This role combines biotech sales, business development, customer relationship management, and order operations to deliver a seamless customer experience from initial engagement through fulfillment.
The ideal candidate will serve as a key liaison between customers and internal teams, driving new business opportunities while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service in a regulated biotech environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
Drive revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and closing new opportunities within Invitro Diagnostic, and life sciences sectors
Conduct outbound prospecting, networking, and cold outreach, including face-to-face client visits
Develop and execute territory and account strategies to expand market presence
Build strong, trust-based client relationships through consultative selling
Translate complex scientific concepts into value-driven business solutions
Client Relationship & Customer Experience
Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and ongoing account management
Cultivate long-term partnerships by understanding customer needs and delivering tailored solutions
Manage client expectations and provide timely updates on orders, scheduling, and product availability to ensure high customer satisfaction.
Accurately enter, review, and manage sales orders within the order management system
Review historical pricing and customer purchase history
Prepare and coordinate documentation, related to within Dept.
Maintain organized physical and electronic sales records
Ensure compliance with internal procedures, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements
Approve orders, pricing, and shipment details
Track and document customer complaints, feedback, and resolutions
Customer Communication & Support
Respond to inbound calls, emails, and sales inquiries professionally and efficiently
Process customer orders, including verbal and written requests
Provide documentation such as:
Certificates of Analysis (COA)
Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
Lead times and product availability
BHR and quality-related documentation
Deliver clear, accurate, and timely communication to ensure a positive customer experience
Order Fulfillment & Operations Support
Prepare and review packing lists for accuracy
Monitor order status and proactively communicate updates
Perform inventory checks and coordinate with internal teams
Partner with warehouse, production, QA/QC, and sales teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment
Maintain and update CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) with accurate customer and sales data
Track leads, opportunities, and follow-up activities
Manage pipeline visibility and sales forecasting
Prepare proposals, quotes, and follow-ups to drive deal conversion
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with scientific, production, quality, and operations teams to meet customer needs
Bridge technical discussions between clients and internal teams
Support audits, documentation reviews, and compliance initiatives
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in sales, customer service, or order management (biotech/life sciences preferred)
Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce a plus) and Microsoft Office
Familiarity with regulated environments (QA/QC, ISO, FDA) and order fulfillment is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field preferred
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Results-driven with strong business and sales acumen
Customer-focused with consultative selling skills
Ability to translate technical information into clear value propositions
High level of integrity and professionalism
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
On-site role based in Seguin, TX
Occasional travel for client meetings and industry events
