
Regional Internal Wholesaler - Life Sales

Overview
Nationwide Financial, a Fortune 100 company with nearly $70 billion in annual sales, is seeking a Regional Internal Wholesaler to partner with financial professionals across the country.
Key Responsibilities
Initiate daily contacts to targeted business partners to build relationships, discover appropriate needs, and consult and advise based on clients’ needs.
Develop and grow strategic business partnerships and relationships with business partners to meet territory management performance requirements, acting as a consultative link between partners and Nationwide Financial.
Apply knowledge of industry trends, competitive intelligence, state legislation, market movements and investment changes to advise and consult with business partners.
Evaluate and determine viability of business partners with respect to customer and business needs, and provide the most appropriate strategies and solutions.
Respond to requests from business partners and external sales within the assigned territory, providing support materials such as illustrations, proposals and product/rider information.
Provide proactive financial expertise, recommendations and practice management advice to business partners within the assigned territory.
Execute proactive contacts to support campaigns highlighting product features and benefits and advise on pertinent sales ideas and solutions.
Partner with the external sales force to grow partners’ business and advise on product and procedural modifications to meet partner or client needs.
Engage partners to retain business, address reasons for asset flight and advise alternative retention solutions.
Represent Internal Sales and Service (ISS) in meetings and initiatives such as advisory boards, relationship strategy partnerships and committees.
Consult with functions across Nationwide such as Marketing, Business Performance Excellence and Product Development to build competitive products and services.
Travel and cover open external wholesaler territory on a temporary basis for in‑person meetings and broker‑dealer events.
Serve as a role model and assist in training newer regional internal associates; assist with team meetings.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Education: Undergraduate degree in human ecology, business, finance, communications, marketing or related field required.
Licensing: FINRA Series 6 and Series 63 licenses required; must obtain within 120 days of start date.
Experience: Three years of experience in a sales‑driven position; experience in a sales or service call center environment and a financial services background preferred.
Knowledge: In‑depth knowledge of insurance and financial products, consultative sales processes, Teach/Tailor/Take Control elements.
Abilities and Skills: Relationship building, consultative selling, independent judgment, time management, organization, communication, professional presence, listening, rapport building, writing and presentation abilities.
Job Conditions
Overtime Eligibility: Exempt (Not Eligible)
Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
Location: Must reside within 35 miles of Ohio: 1000 Yard St, Grandview Heights, OH, 43212 or Arizona: 18700 N Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ, 85255, or be willing to commute.
Compensation and Benefits Competitive base salary and incentive pay package; salary range $56,000 – $84,000.
