Expert Presales Architecture Advisor

What you’ll do
The Expert Architecture Advisor (AA) plays a critical role in complex and strategic sales opportunities by shaping end‑to‑end enterprise architecture visions (the AS‑IS and TO‑BE) and defining the transformation pathway that aligns SAP’s portfolio to the customer’s business and IT strategy. You will strengthen deal credibility and strategic positioning while working with Sales Executives and Partners to define account strategy and bridge the gap between the customer’s business strategy and SAP solutions.

The role focuses on presales advisory, target‑state architecture, and transformation roadmap definition; implementation delivery remains with SAP Services and/or partners.

As an Architecture Advisor (AA), you will focus on the following key areas:

Lead validation of the customer’s current enterprise landscape (AS‑IS) and define the target enterprise architecture aligned to business priorities.

Identify opportunities to accelerate adoption of SAP’s integrated suite through transformation‑aligned roadmaps and modernised cloud operating models.

Orchestrate alignment across SAP sales, solution specialists, partners, and customer stakeholders to ensure architectural consistency and strategic positioning.

Creating an SAP Architecture Vision for the Customer

Create end‑to‑end enterprise architecture vision covering business, application, data, integration, and technology domains within SAP‑centric and hybrid landscapes.

Operationalise customer business strategy into an executable SAP‑aligned transformation roadmap, ensuring architectural integrity and technical feasibility.

Position SAP’s innovation agenda within the customer’s transformation context, including intelligent and AI‑enabled processes, unified data architectures, and next‑generation SAP user experiences.

Building Key Customer Architecture Deliverables: Business & Solution Architecture, Target State, Transformation Roadmap

Provide direct architectural support to complex and strategic sales opportunities, establishing robust and defensible architectural foundations that reduce risk and strengthen SAP’s competitive advantage.

Lead customer transformation workshops, executive briefings, and architecture deep dives that advance strategic opportunities.

Being the Trusted Architecture Advisor for the Customer

Analyse the customer’s current enterprise architecture and future‑state requirements across SAP and surrounding ecosystems, including non‑SAP platforms and integration patterns, ensuring implementable and scalable outcomes.

What you bring

Minimum 10+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Presales, or strategic IT advisory roles within complex enterprise environments.

Proven ability to facilitate executive‑level architecture and transformation discussions, articulating complex enterprise design decisions clearly to both business and IT leadership.

Considerable experience within software/IT organizations across presales, consulting, business development, or architecture advisory roles.

Demonstrable experience producing target‑state enterprise architecture designs and transformation roadmaps within complex presales engagements, ensuring architectural integrity, technical feasibility, and implementable outcomes.

Strong expertise in cloud architectures, including hyperscaler and SAP‑centric landscapes.

Broad knowledge of SAP portfolio with ability to go deep on at least one core solution.

Proven success engaging senior stakeholders and acting as a trusted advisor in the market.

Proven leadership and project influence experience.

Fluency in English required.

Education & Certifications

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) required; MBA or equivalent preferred.

TOGAF, SAPIEA‑10, or equivalent certification strongly recommended.

Demonstrable use of Enterprise Architecture methods, frameworks, and tools in customer‑facing engagements. Lean IX proficiency desirable.
