The
Executive Director, Facilities Management & Planning
will serve as a
strategic architect of the University’s physical environment , responsible for aligning infrastructure, capital investment, and operational excellence with long-term institutional growth.
This leader will oversee
facilities operations, capital planning, and infrastructure strategy
across multiple campuses, ensuring that every building, system, and space supports the University’s mission and future ambitions.
This is a
high-visibility, high-impact leadership role
requiring both
strategic vision and operational rigor .
It is fully in-person, with occasional after-hours leadership presence as needed.
What You’ll Own
1. Strategic Facilities Leadership
Develop and execute a
long-range facilities master plan
aligned with institutional priorities
Lead
multi-year capital planning and investment strategy
Drive decisions around
space utilization, campus evolution, and lifecycle management
Translate vision into
actionable, prioritized infrastructure roadmaps
2. Operational Excellence
Oversee all
facilities operations, maintenance, and building systems
Ensure seamless performance across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems
Implement
preventive and predictive maintenance programs
that reduce risk and cost
Maintain the highest standards of
safety, compliance, and reliability
3. Capital Projects & Campus Transformation
Lead
end-to-end execution of capital projects
from concept through completion
Manage architects, engineers, contractors, and external partners
Ensure delivery against
scope, budget, timeline, and quality expectations
Play a key role in
modernizing and elevating campus environments
Own and manage
operating and capital budgets
Drive
cost discipline, efficiency, and ROI on capital investments
Align financial planning with long-term institutional strategy
Build, lead, and mentor a
high-performing facilities organization
Establish a culture of
accountability, responsiveness, and pride in execution
Invest in
talent development, training, and succession planning
Oversee all
vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement processes
Ensure partners deliver against
performance, quality, and compliance standards
Negotiate and manage
strategic external partnerships
7. Compliance, Safety & Sustainability
Ensure adherence to
all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards (OSHA, building codes, etc.)
Champion
energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
Lead risk management efforts tied to facilities and infrastructure
What We’re Looking For
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, or related field required
Experience
8–12 years of progressive experience in
facilities management, capital planning, or construction leadership
Proven success leading
large-scale capital projects and complex operating environments
Minimum of 5 years in a
leadership capacity , building and managing teams
Strong track record of
balancing strategy with execution
