
Senior Social Media Strategist

Our client, the global philanthropic arm of a leading Financial & Media Company, is seeking a Sr. Seocial Media Strategist to join their digital team. This role will be responsible for creating and overseeing compelling social media content that translates complex, nuanced work into engaging, platform-native storytelling. The ideal candidate is creative, highly organized, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, real-time content environment.
This is a full-time role based onsite 5 days a week in New York City. Salary range is from $125-135k.
Responsibilities:
Ideate, develop, and execute social media content that brings complex topics to life in clear, engaging, and platform-appropriate ways.
Create tailored content across key platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging channels.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to source, develop, and publish content.
Draft, edit, and manage approvals for social media copy, including captions, scripts, metadata, and community posts.
Support major initiatives such as launches, announcements, and events with integrated social and digital content.
Partner with external agencies to develop creative assets, including video content, short‑form cutdowns, thumbnails, and paid media campaigns.
Support community management efforts by monitoring conversations and engaging with audiences where appropriate.
Track, analyze, and report on social media performance, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
Develop reporting for key campaigns and moments, highlighting performance trends and opportunities.
Stay ahead of digital trends, proactively identifying new formats, platforms, and content opportunities.
Collaborate with teams across paid media, video, communications, events, and content to ensure cohesive storytelling.
Support operational needs including content scheduling, asset management, documentation, and coordination.
Assist with website updates via CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress) to support broader communications efforts.
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in a dedicated social media or digital content role.
Proven experience creating and managing content across major social media platforms.
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
Ability to analyze social media performance metrics and translate data into actionable insights.
Experience collaborating with cross‑functional teams and external agencies.
Proficiency with standard workplace tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within mission‑driven or global organizations.
Familiarity with content management systems such as WordPress.
Experience supporting integrated campaigns across organic and paid social channels.
