Director, Secondary Packaging

Job Description
The Director of Secondary Packaging is a leadership role within CSL’s Drug Delivery Systems & Packaging (DDSP) department. In this position you will shape how medicines are delivered, advance global sustainability objectives, and drive category transformation by developing long‑term strategies.
Responsibilities
Evolve secondary packaging development processes by championing new tools, data‑driven decision making, and advanced technologies across the value chain, including integration into combination product development processes.
Develop secondary packaging designs and capabilities to ensure products meet market, regulatory, quality, and manufacturing requirements; assess failures to determine root causes and corrective actions.
Deliver meaningful sustainability impact by shaping initiatives to meet global environmental commitments.
Contribute to a high‑performing global supplier network by partnering with supply chain and procurement to drive innovation pipelines, resilience, and quality of the global packaging supply base.
Coach and mentor direct reports and provide career development for team members.
Create workforce, succession, and staffing plans to maximize available talent and achieve business results.
Qualifications
Packaging or other engineering degree.
At least 10 years of experience in secondary packaging within the medical device and/or pharmaceutical industry.
Expertise in serialization and other anti‑counterfeit measures.
Experience with ISTA and ASTM for packaging and simulated shipping.
Proven ability to develop strategies and lead improvement projects.
Excellent communication skills and track record working in a matrix environment; ability to influence, build, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Strong leadership through a partnership and engagement approach with manufacturing to advance quality outcomes and operational excellence.
