
Fleet Asset Specialist

Are you ready to be the face of Amazon Transportation Fleet Maintenance? As a Fleet Asset Specialist, you will be a vital member of Amazon Transportation Services in support of our growing fleet of assets. The Fleet Asset Specialist provides on-site support to our Transportation Operations Management (TOM) partners and maintenance vendors to maximize value and our fleet asset uptime. An ideal candidate brings a background in managing equipment, experience working with maintenance vendors and operation teams, driving improvement, mitigating barriers with maintenance vendors, and achieving organizational targets. This job requires a strong ability to work independently as this role has responsibility for multiple locations that make up a node. As a Fleet Asset Specialist, you will help with identification of barriers to asset uptime, support local maintenance escalations and help root‑cause equipment failures, and perform ad-hoc asset inspections as directed by leadership within your node. The ability to effectively communicate with vendors and local transportation teams is a critical aspect of daily operations, providing updates and prioritization as needed.
Key Job Responsibilities
Execute the daily standard work necessary to manage equipment within a node, including inspecting equipment, observing vehicle trends, and supporting deep dives of downed assets.
Be a path of escalation when equipment repairs exceed an acceptable timeline, in an effort to expedite equipment repairs.
Maintain relationships and oversight of maintenance vendors permitted to work on Amazon equipment and drive vendor adherence to service level agreements.
Audit documentation support to ensure Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance; stay aware of maintenance requirements / equipment standards, and support all regulatory inspections required to maintain DOT compliance.
Contribute to team efforts by recommending process improvements that help prevent equipment damage or that may increase the speed of repairs.
Monitor and escalation safety concerns related to Amazon employees, our contractors, and our equipment.
Work with cross‑functional teams. Use analytical skills to drive data‑driven decisions, and effectively communicate insights to others across TOM, Fleet, and Maintenance Centralized Services.

Basic Qualifications
High school or equivalent diploma
Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
Experience managing large data sets and utilizing them to drive performance and process improvements
Valid and active driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
1+ years of program management, logistics, operations, supply chain, transportation, or equivalent experience
1+ years of management experience
Bachelor’s degree
Experience with SQL
Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA(R) rules, regulations, and record keeping

The base pay for this position ranges from $47,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $74,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
