Job Duties
Develop user-centric content and communication consistency (displays, manuals, labels etc.) throughout the organization. As the resident wordsmith, work cross functionally with a variety of roles including researchers, engineers, training, marketing, and product safety to help ensure connective language and a unified voice.
Content Creation and Information Design - Conceptualize, write, and edit difficult content by leveraging expertise in user experience design, design thinking, product strategy and writing. Create intuitive instructions and in-product messaging for users. Understand and incorporate corporate content strategy, brand positioning, and terminology into all content. Lead projects to enhance clarity and usability of product experiences. Develop understanding of product operation, design intent, approval processes, and requirements needed for translations.
Information Gathering and Examination - Work with global stakeholders to address the needs of global audiences and meet approved market regulatory standards. Examine and understand operation to create accurate information and instruct safe operation. Develop and reorganize existing content as features and updates are added.
Task Management, Tracking and Approval - Utilize software (Adobe WorkFront) to track task and project progress. Prepare and present work to cross-functional teams to obtain feedback and approval. Follow development process using organizational structure to support content completion.
Content Support and Accuracy - Enhance knowledge of design software tools to develop, organize, and manage information. Maintain a strong working knowledge of structured and unstructured content for static and dynamic delivery, metadata, and taxonomies. Ensure consistency across content and various output media. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor degree in English, Communication Design, Technical Writing, or related (OR High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of related work experience)
2 years related experience
Strong writing skills exhibited by work samples (Include portfolio link with application)
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality
Proficient with computers, ideally experience with Mac
Proficient in Adobe InDesign and other relevant design tools
Reliable transportation to travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday
Ability to occasionally travel with overnight stays (0-5%)
Ability to handle physical and mental demands akin to most office positions: prolonged periods of sitting; prolonged use of computer/keyboard; infrequent lifting, walking, and climbing stairs; occasional use of office equipment
Preferred Qualifications
Figma software experience
Content Management software experience
Familiarity with project management platform, ideally Adobe Workfront
Familiarity with Illustrator, InCopy
