Job Title: Landscape Designer (Design + Sales Focus)
Position Overview
We are seeking a talented and client-focused Landscape Designer to join a growing team. This role blends creative design, technical proficiency, and sales acumen. The ideal candidate will work directly with custom home builders and homeowners to design, estimate, and sell high-end landscape, lighting, and hardscape projects.

This is a client-facing position that requires both strong design capabilities and the ability to confidently guide customers from concept through signed contract.

Key Responsibilities
Client Consultation & Relationship Management

Meet with custom home builders and homeowners to assess project goals, preferences, and budget

Serve as a trusted advisor throughout the design and sales process

Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, architects, and homeowners

Landscape & Hardscape Design

Develop creative, functional, and aesthetically compelling landscape designs

Incorporate elements such as planting, irrigation, outdoor lighting, patios, walkways, retaining walls, and other hardscape features

Ensure designs align with site conditions, architecture, and client vision

Prepare accurate and detailed project estimates based on designs

Develop professional proposals that clearly communicate scope, value, and pricing

Collaborate with internal teams (operations, installation, procurement) as needed for costing accuracy

Present design concepts and proposals to clients in a compelling manner

Address client questions and objections with confidence and professionalism

Close sales and secure signed contracts

Consistently meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals

Project Handoff & Coordination

Work closely with installation teams to ensure design intent is executed properly

Provide clear documentation and expectations for project delivery

Support project success through effective communication and follow-up

Qualifications
Required:

3+ years of experience in landscape design, landscape architecture, or a related field

Proficiency in CAD-based landscape design software (e.g., DynaScape or similar)

Strong understanding of landscape construction, hardscaping, and plant materials

Proven experience in client-facing roles with sales responsibilities

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

Preferred:

Degree in Landscape Design, Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field

Experience working with custom home builders or high-end residential clients

Familiarity with irrigation and outdoor lighting systems

Creative design thinking with attention to detail

Strong sales and closing ability

High level of professionalism and customer service

Self-motivated and results-driven

Strong organizational and time management skills
