The broker role involves developing and applying strategic risk management solutions for Power and Renewable Energy clients. This includes the design, marketing and service management of builder’s risk and operational property insurance programs.
Location focus: Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; or New York, NY. We are open to all candidates across North America.
What The Day Will Look Like
As a senior broking leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the strategy, design, and marketing of traditional power and renewable energy builder’s risk programs and operational property programs, including single‑carrier placements, shared and layered programs, and for global accounts.
Facilitate the compilation and distribution of submission information in conjunction with appropriate external client contacts and internal Aon clients.
Provide broking status and continuous support and service to clients during the entire broking process and entire period of engagement by client.
Develop client presentations including analytical data and present terms to clients in conjunction with the Account Management Team.
Negotiate assigned accounts and change endorsement directly with underwriters.
Demonstrate effective negotiation skills.
Drive utilization of all available technology throughout the broking process and client service process.
Responsible, along with balance of account service team, for all aspects of client service for the assigned book of business including binding and invoicing, policy preparation and collection, review and transmittal in accordance with established service standards with support from Lead Brokers and Broker Specialists.
Provide benchmarking and placement advice to clients and producing offices.
Manage client relationships (direct clients and/or producing offices).
Assist in the production and/or delivery of account RFP tenders.
How This Opportunity Is Different
The broker will be instrumental in analyzing client exposures to identify and mitigate risk, and responsible for the coordination of placement and day‑to‑day activities on accounts. The broker should have proven peer market relationships and emerging senior market relationships.
Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success
10‑15+ years of relevant insurance P&C business experience.
Validated knowledge of Property Insurance coverages.
Some M&A experience is a plus, including Due Diligence projects.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Outstanding Microsoft Suite and presentation skills.
Ability to travel to support sales initiatives across the Middle Market practice.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent amount of relevant experience.

Pay Transparency Laws
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $180,000 to $245,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of North Carolina. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location. This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.
