With nearly 50 years of service, HAPCAP develops innovative programs that empower families and individuals toward self‑sufficiency. Serving Southeast Ohio, the organization operates six Head Start centers, three Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) offices, a Housing office, and the Regional Food Center. As one of 50 Community Action Agencies in Ohio, HAPCAP remains committed to improving the quality of life for community members and addressing local challenges.
Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site role located in Marietta, OH, for a Public Relations Manager. The role involves developing and executing strategic communication plans, drafting press releases, and managing media relations to enhance the organization’s public image. The Public Relations Manager will foster relationships with stakeholders, coordinate events, and manage public outreach efforts to effectively communicate HAPCAP’s mission and programs. They will work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure consistent and engaging messaging.
Qualifications
Proficiency in creating press releases and managing media relations
Strong skills in communication, public relations, and strategic communications
Proven ability to develop and execute effective strategic communication plans
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Experience in community‑focused or nonprofit organizations is a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders
