
Footwear Designer – Luxury Brand

Our client, a fashion luxury apparel brand, is seeking a
Designer for their Footwear division.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Partners with the VP to develop and refine seasonal concept, materials, hardware, and color palette for the sneakers and molded footwear collections.
Help build seasonal design boards and keep them up to date
Collect, track and ensure all information is compiled and easily accessible related to each style
Must be able to both hand sketch and create technical drawings by Illustrator for tech packs with complete construction details, and provide mock-ups if needed
Create and execute CADs including seasonal deck using Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Take notes in design/sketch meetings and capture all updates to designs
Compile trend research and organize/upkeep vintage and inspiration archive
Participate in fit sessions
Responsible for timeline adherence; ensure all design cards are completed accurately and delivered to Product Development on time; ensure all prototypes are available for product presentation and finalization.
Responsible for upholding design integrity, high quality execution, and timeliness throughout the entire development process from concept through engineering and commercialization.
Partners and participates in meetings cross-functionally with Merchandising and Product Development/Technical Design on regular basis.
Adhere to seasonal product milestone calendars, ensuring that the category meets deadlines
QUALIFICATIONS
Associates of Arts or Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent field
6+ years of footwear design experience working for a luxury retailer (sneakers and molded a plus)
High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
Independently build all tech packs and pass specs in a detailed, organized and clear manner for factory proto sample making
Experience developing product directly with factories; understanding of development from concept through engineering
Understanding of materials, hardware, leather, and footwear construction required
Must provide digital portfolio of work
