Assistant Golf Professional at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, Orlando’s most exclusive private club.
Overview Lake Nona Golf & Country Club, a Platinum Club of the World, offers a world‑class experience for members and guests. The Assistant Golf Professional supports golf operations, coaching, and member services.
Position Summary This role integrates elite coaching, player development, club fitting, and golf operations, delivering a world‑class experience for members and guests. Reports to the Head Professional & Head of Coaching. FLSA Status: Hourly/Non‑Exempt.
Essential Job Functions
Coaching & Player Development – Assist in junior golf programs (ages 5–13), lead select sessions, coordinate staff scheduling, track player performance, run weekly junior competitions, and support clinic and lesson initiatives.
Club Fitting, Building & Equipment Services – Assist with custom fittings, perform grip installs, verify club specifications, communicate with members regarding equipment orders, and support inventory management.
Golf Operations & Member Services – Assist with tee time bookings, support tournament operations, maintain shop merchandising and inventory, process sales and merchandise, enforce club policies, and engage with members to enhance experience.
Administration & Facility Support – Assist with monthly inventory coordination, maintain Pathos Performance Center cleanliness and technology, answer phones and inquiries, and support opening and closing procedures.
Requirements Essential Qualifications
PGA Member or Associate.
Knowledge of USGA Rules and handicap system.
Experience or interest in junior coaching.
Willingness to learn club fitting/building.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer skills preferred.
Maintain strong playing ability (handicap ~4 preferred).
Represent the club professionally.
Support all areas of the golf operation as needed.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to work in hot and muggy conditions for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions.
Must be able to perform assigned work as outlined above.
Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.
Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
