Monday to Friday
Key Responsibilities
Experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, decontamination, and updating patient information.
Collect and store specimens in accordance with established procedures.
Explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection (e.g., urine or fecal) clearly and courteously.
Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Understand all physicians’ orders and match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
Package specimens for transport.
Store specimens at the required temperature and monitor conditions.
*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 6 months of experience; 1+ year phlebotomy experience preferred.
Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
Keyboard/data entry experience a must.
