Executive Director, Trade Transformation Office

As the Executive Director, Trade Transformation Office, in the Office of Trade, you will be responsible for leading the development of requirements that will support transformation and continuous improvement through the application of technology and business process redesign to make import and export processes more efficient and effective. You will be responsible for planning, defining, and prioritizing requirements to support the development of automated systems that enable CBP to achieve its strategic goals and objectives related to the enforcement, analysis, and trade policy requirements of CBP, other Government agencies, and the private sector. You will develop an enterprise vision to modernize and automate CBP trade operations and oversee transformative technological solutions to ensure that the vision is realized. You will also participate in CBP budget formulation processes to obtain resources for and to prioritize projects in light of overall CBP priorities and objectives. You will exercise broad executive management authority, which affects the direction of CBP Trade Transformation business processes. As the Executive Director, Trade Transformation Office, you will be responsible for counseling senior management staff and officials at multiple levels of the agency; senior staff of other Federal, state, and local government agencies; and private sector clients and vendors; on agency matters related to Trade Transformation. You will represent the business interests of CBP in an advisory capacity on matters concerning Trade Transformation, meeting and briefing high-level officials, including Departmental officials, the Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Executive Assistant Commissioners, subordinate senior managers, other Federal agency representatives within and outside DHS, as well as state and local government agencies, and private sector representatives. You will be the principal representative and consultant for the Trade Transformation Office at interagency and international meetings. You will establish and maintain effective working relationships with various high-level individuals, including Members of Congress and their staff, other legislative and executive agencies, executives of major corporations, and distinguished members of the public. You will maintain close and cooperative working relationships with agency or department management officials, other government agencies, and other institutions with related interests in order to advance the transformative automation programs and objectives for the agency. You will be responsible for communicating to all stakeholders the benefits and impact of the transformative automation programs. You will provide testimony to Congressional committees and meet with representatives from trade and industry on matters of mutual interest.
