Position Summary
Bentley is seeking a senior community marketing leader to define and shape how users and technical audiences engage with us across our community ecosystem.
This role will own the strategy and evolution of Bentley’s community experience, with the Communities Hub as a core pillar. The right person will think beyond platform management, helping Bentley build more meaningful engagement with developers while creating a connected model across digital engagement, peer connection, customer programs, and selective in‑person activations.
This is a senior, player‑coach role for someone who can set strategy, lead a small team, and bring fresh ideas to how Bentley builds a more modern, credible, and valuable community experience over time.
Responsibilities
Community Strategy & Experience
Own Bentley’s broader community strategy across developers, users, and customers
Shape a connected community model across digital and in‑person touchpoints
Oversee the Communities Hub to ensure it is intuitive, active, and valuable
Bring fresh, outside‑in thinking to how Bentley builds community
Developer & User Communities
Lead the evolution of Bentley’s developer community approach, helping the company build more intentional, credible, and engaging experiences for technical audiences
Partner with product, technical, and marketing stakeholders to identify where developers need distinct engagement models, content, and programs
Help Bentley better serve developer audiences while ensuring those efforts connect into the broader user and customer ecosystem
Identify new ways to build trust, participation, and long‑term engagement with developers and other key community segments
Programming, Content & Activation
Connect programs such as user groups, Coffee Corners, CABs, events, meetups, and other customer initiatives into a more cohesive community experience
Oversee in‑community content and engagement moments, including onboarding, announcements, discussion prompts, calendars, recaps, and resource libraries
Help shape community‑led activations that deepen engagement, strengthen peer connection, and make Bentley’s ecosystem more dynamic and useful over time
Cross‑Functional & Team Leadership
Partner closely with Bentley stakeholders to align priorities, roles, and processes
Translate community feedback and engagement patterns into actionable insights that inform programming, communications, and future investment
Lead and develop a small, high‑impact team responsible for day‑to‑day execution of the Communities Hub and Bentley User Groups
Operate as a player‑coach, setting direction and standards while staying close enough to the work to guide quality and execution
Create focus, momentum, and strong operating rhythm in a function that is still being built and refined
What Success Looks Like
Bentley builds a stronger and more credible approach to engaging developers within its broader community ecosystem
Developers, users, and customers have clearer pathways to discover Bentley, learn, connect with peers, and stay engaged over time
The Communities Hub becomes a more trusted, intuitive, and valuable destination
Community programs and touchpoints feel more connected, intentional, and strategic rather than one‑off
Community engagement grows in quality, relevance, and consistency
Internal teams view community as a meaningful channel for engagement, insight, and advocacy
Requires sitting or standing at will while performing work on a computer (or any other physical requirements).
Willingness to travel as needed.
Qualifications
10+ years in community, community marketing, digital engagement, platform strategy, or related roles
