Academic Year Internship Program Details
Program Dates: September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027
Time Commitment: 16‑24 hours per week. Exact schedule will be determined based on business needs. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.
Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from New York, NY.
Areas of Placement
Data Science
The Data Science team instils advanced analytics and data science principles into advertising technology. The team collaborates with multiple product teams to support predictive modeling, measurement & optimization, reporting and analysis. This internship provides hands‑on experience applying quantitative modeling, optimization, AI/ML to real‑world advertising challenges. You’ll work with data scientists, analysts and product managers to design and test algorithms that predict performance and maximize ROI.
Business Intelligence
The Business Intelligence team leverages data to empower our business customers with actionable insights that drive business performance and foster a culture of data‑driven decision‑making within Ad Sales. Business Intelligence Product Managers and Analytics Engineers develop and execute on comprehensive roadmaps leveraging best‑in‑class technology solutions, enabling access to crucial business insights via dashboards, reports, self‑service modules, and "data as a product".
Identity & Data Product
The Identity and Data Product team is responsible for collection, standardization, and management of NBCUniversal’s owned and licensed data products and assets. This work enables identity resolution, activation, monetization, and data collaboration through secure, privacy‑centric methods and technologies.
Program Management
The Program Management Intern will rotate across multiple program management leads to gain hands‑on exposure to the full lifecycle of advertising products, including Supply, Audiences, Measurement, Demand, and Operations. This internship is designed to provide meaningful, real‑world experience supporting cross‑functional initiatives and learning how advertising products are built, launched, and scaled.
Basic Requirements
Must be actively enrolled in a degree‑granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 – April 2027). December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
Must be authorized to work in the United States with no requirement for work‑visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Must be available to work 16‑24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
Desired Characteristics
Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
(Business Intelligence) Comfort with qualitative & quantitative data analysis, strategic problem solving, and ambiguity.
(Business Intelligence) Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
(Business Intelligence) Understanding of data modeling, joins, and blending.
(Data Science) Experience with BI tools (MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, or Looker).
(Data Science) Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups) and PowerPoint.
(Data Science) Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data analysis and pipeline development.
(Identity & Data Product) Familiarity with SQL and Snowflake for data manipulation and querying.
(Identity & Data Product) Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP) and tools like Databricks is a plus.
(Project management) Understanding of data privacy concepts and clean room technologies is a bonus.
(Project management) Pursuing a degree in business, communications, technology, media, or a related field.
(Project management) Interest in program management, product development, advertising technology, and/or media businesses.
(Project management) Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
(Project management) Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple teams and stakeholders.
(Project management) Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks at once.
(Project management) Willingness to learn project tracking and workflow tools such as Jira or Smartsheet.
The hourly rate for student interns is $19.00.
