
Product Marketing Manager

This role is responsible for driving product success across the portfolio through customer insight, product positioning, and successful commercialization of new and existing products. This role serves as the bridge between R&D, Sales, and Marketing to ensure products are well-defined, competitively positioned, and effectively brought to market. This role focuses on product strategy, positioning, and commercialization, and partners closely with Marketing for campaign execution and demand generation. This role also works hand in hand with the Marketing Team, Sales Team, R&D and Compliance Team, Operations Team for bringing new products to market.
Driving overall Sales growth via launching successful new products and improving existing products
Managing New Product Introduction (NPI) process (with strong involvement from Head of Sales)
Translating customer insights, competitive intelligence, and product performance into clear product strategies, positioning, and launch plans
Coordinating cross functional teams throughout the NPI process to successfully commercialize new products
Managing company’s overall product portfolio strategically and tactically – including Industry-specific product portfolios and product portfolios by type (adhesives, sealants, tapes, cleaners)
Defining product positioning, value propositions, and messaging by industry, application, and customer segment
Driving creation of and maintaining current all product related sales/marketing materials including product labels, product technical sales data sheets, website product page content
Gathering and leveraging general, industry-specific, and product type-specific customer insights and product requirements and turning those into product development specs and superior-performing products.
Gathering and leveraging competitor product to inform product development priorities, specs, and performance superiority
Developing and delivering core sales enablement tools, including product materials, competitive comparisons, and training materials
Partnering with Sales and Owners to support pricing strategy, margin optimization, and value-based positioning
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Define and Maintain an Optimal Product Portfolio and Product Architecture – both strategically and tactically
Craft and oversee implementation of a Product Portfolio plan that supports short and long term growth across core markets and core product platforms and core technologies
Successfully manage New Product Introduction (NPI) process (with strong involvement from Head of Sales)
Coordinate cross functional teams throughout the NPI process (R&D, Sales, Regulatory, Marketing, Operations)
Coordinate and support finalizing all product launch-related documents (labels & sell sheets) with Marketing, Sales, R&D, and Regulatory
Manage company database of Product Labels, Technical Data, Sales Materials
Maintain robust general, industry-specific, and product type-specific customer insights and product requirements and turn those insights into prioritized product development specs and superior-performing products.
Oversee and help drive improvement in, growth of, and competitive strength (performance) of entire Product Portfolio and Core Product Lines for Revenue, Cost, Profitability, Performance, Quality, Customer Satisfaction
Support Sales with any aspect related to Product Success they need
Ensure Web Team and Marketing team have the product content they need to showcase products appropriately
Product Commercialization: Knowledge of new product initiation and commercialization processes, including disciplined understanding of how to efficiently and effectively collaborate with Sales, R&D, Regulatory, Operations, and Marketing
Portfolio Management: Knowledge of how to assess, maintain, and optimize sales and profit performance of complex product portfolios and core product technologies and platforms
Customer Product Research & Insights: Ability to gather, organize, track, and then leverage general, industry-specific, and product type-specific customer insights and customer product requirements and turn those into product development specs and superior-performing products.
Competitive Product Research & Intel: Ability to gather, organize, track, and then leverage competitors’ products to inform product development priorities, specs, and performance superiority
Project Management: Skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing marketing calendars, and ensuring timely delivery of projects using tools like ClickUp or Trello, etc.
Process Orientation: Familiar with developing and improving cross functional and complex processes including using appropriate software and other related tools and resources.
Organizational Skills: Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns, assets, and deadlines efficiently.
Product Content & Sales Materials: Ability to develop clear, accurate, and compelling product documentation (labels, technical data sheets, product pages, and sales tools)
AI Tools: Proven knowledge of and experience using main AI Technology, Efficiency, and Project Management tools including but not limited to Chat GPT, Claude, Perplexity, etc.
Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication for drafting compelling product related materials
Analytical Skills: Proficient in tracking and analyzing product related KPIs to evaluate the success of overall product portfolio and key product groups.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities, and staying updated on marketing trends and AI innovations.
Qualifications Education and/or Experience
4-year college degree or equivalent.
Minimum of 3-5 years of full-time professional work experience.
Familiarity with product marketing processes and concepts
Familiarity with New Product Introduction processes and concepts.
Proven experience in managing complex product portfolios and product lines
Proven experience using AI for process and productivity improvement tasks
Proven experience using project management tools such as ClickUp, Trello, Monday, etc.
Experience with Adhesives and/or Sealants is preferred but not required
Other Skills
Proven aptitude for researching, learning, and mastering new software and tools.
