Position Overview
Explore Hocking Hills is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Marketing & Communications Coordinator to support the execution of integrated marketing initiatives that promote the Hocking Hills region, its members, and its attractions. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects move efficiently from concept to completion while maintaining alignment with the organization’s mission of destination stewardship and responsible tourism.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and project manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple priorities, and is passionate about supporting a destination marketing organization (DMO) that values responsible visitation that preserves the environment and quality of life for residents.

Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Workflow Management

Traffic and manage marketing and communications workflow across internal teams and external partners.

Track deadlines, deliverables, and project milestones to ensure timely completion.

Coordinate with the agency of record to facilitate campaigns, creative development, and approvals.

Maintain project calendars and ensure alignment across initiatives.

General administrative support needed to assist with updating office management processes and systems, including the phone system, routing approvals, and more.

Will have access to the Executive Director’s calendar to streamline meeting scheduling and continuing the administrative team’s workflow while ED is out of office for external affairs and other stakeholder meetings.

Marketing & Communications Support

Assist in the execution of integrated marketing campaigns promoting the destination, members, and attractions.

Help manage asset organization, distribution, and updates.

Media & Partner Relations

Respond to media inquiries in a timely and professional manner and assist with scheduling internal staff and association members.

Assist with press coordination, media visits, and information requests.

Manage incoming advertising solicitations and partnership opportunities.

Serve as a point of contact for general correspondence related to marketing and communications.

Administrative & Organizational Support

Maintain accurate records of projects, communications, and campaign performance.

Support reporting and tracking of marketing initiatives.

Assist with budget tracking and vendor coordination as needed.

Mission Alignment

Support initiatives that promote sustainable tourism and responsible visitation.

Contribute to efforts that align with Explore Hocking Hills’ commitment to destination investments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field preferred

2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or project coordination

Experience with event planning logistics highly preferred.

Production or project management experience highly preferred

Exceptional organizational and time management skills

Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.

Experience working with agencies, vendors, or cross-functional teams is a plus.

Familiarity with destination marketing, tourism, or hospitality industries is a plus.

Compensation
Compensation commensurate with experience with vision and dental insurance covered by employer, a health insurance stipend, and up to 3% traditional IRA match.
