LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF DISABILITY AND AGING (DDA), GREENE COUNTY
A Motor Vehicle Records screening will be conducted prior to employment.
This position is for the DDA East TN Regional Office division.
This position requires a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered for this position.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Experience equivalent to four years of full-time increasingly skilled electrical work.
Necessary Special Qualifications:
A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in some positions .
Overview
Under general supervision, is responsible for semi-skilled and skilled electrical work of considerable difficulty which includes acting as a lead worker or minor supervisor over others in work, the emphasis normally being upon maintenance electrical work; and performs related work as required. An employee in this class acts as a lead worker or minor supervisor over a small group of maintenance electricians and less skilled workers and performs a wide variety of maintenance and other electrical work in the installation, repair, and renovation of facilities. This class differs from Maintenance Electrician 1 in that an incumbent of the latter does not act as a lead worker or minor supervisor.
Responsibilities
Leads or supervises maintenance electricians conducting electrical work projects and repairs. May participate in the hiring or selection of staff for the organization's electrical maintenance unit and assist in the coordination of staff required for project support.
Ensures that electrical work is performed in accordance with the standards required by electrical codes. Performs inspections on electrical equipment and facilities when problems are reported.
Monitors tool and material controls on projects for safety, security, and accountability in accordance with policy and procedures.
Performs electrical maintenance and repairs on facilities and equipment that requires extensive physical activity.
Performs preventative maintenance inspections of facilities and equipment to monitor electrical problems and maintenance status in accordance with policy and procedures. Uses electrical testing equipment to determine the nature and extent of electrical problems.
Updates work processes and procedures to comply with changes in the electrical codes to insure safety and performance requirements are met in accordance with policy and procedures.
Estimates the materials and parts needed for projects and repairs. Maintains records of materials, time, and work performed and utilized on repairs and projects in accordance with policy and procedures.
Operates vehicles and mechanized equipment; moves and lifts electrical equipment and materials in the repairing and installing the electrical systems of the facilities.
