Sr. Project Engineer (Boston)

We’re hiring a Senior Project Engineer to lead the delivery of complex IT infrastructure and cloud projects across a diverse client base. This role is ideal for someone with a strong MSP or consulting background who can own projects end-to-end while staying hands-on technically.
You’ll work across networking, systems, and cloud environments, with a heavier focus on networking. Expect to manage multiple active projects at once and operate as a senior technical resource in client-facing engagements.
What You’ll Do
Lead design, implementation, and migration of infrastructure solutions across client environments
Deliver networking projects including switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless deployments
Build and support Windows-based systems (Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID)
Execute cloud initiatives across Microsoft 365 and Azure (migrations, deployments, integrations)
Implement virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and support hybrid environments
Deploy and manage backup/DR, storage, and remote access solutions
Own 15+ concurrent projects, ensuring delivery is on time and technically sound
Interface directly with clients, providing clear communication and professional guidance
What You Bring
5+ years of experience as a Project Engineer in an MSP or consulting environment
Strong networking expertise, with solid systems experience
Hands-on experience designing and deploying infrastructure (not just supporting it)
Experience with:
Firewalls/VPNs: Fortinet, Cisco, SonicWall
Switching/Wireless: Cisco, Meraki, Dell, UniFi
Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V (AWS/Azure exposure a plus)
Microsoft stack: Windows Server, AD, Entra ID, Microsoft 365
Backup/DR: Datto, Veeam
RDS/Citrix environments
Storage: HPE Nimble, Dell EMC, Synology
Strong communication skills and the ability to present to clients confidently
