Senior Operations and Maintenance Technician
Location:
Atlanta, GA | On-site
Salary:
$90,000 - $110,000 + overtime + annual bonus
A leading renewable energy developer is seeking a Senior O&M Technician to serve as the primary field lead and technical anchor for a growing portfolio of solar assets. This is a hire with responsibility for high-level troubleshooting, team mentorship, and ensuring operational excellence across complex PV systems.
What the Senior O&M Technician will do:
Provide Field Leadership:
Leading a diverse team of 4+ technicians to ensure weekly game plans are executed safely and efficiently.
Technical Troubleshooting:
Perform advanced diagnostics, commissioning, and validation of PV systems, ensuring equipment remains within tolerances and maintains peak performance.
Team Development:
Lead the training of new field technicians as the portfolio scales, sharing expertise on both legacy and new solar technology.
Process Improvement:
Develop and implement SOPs and safety protocols, ensuring the field team maintains a minimum system uptime as close to 100% as possible.
Strategic Execution:
Think on your feet to solve site-specific electrical issues while maintaining a high physical presence across sites.
What You’ll Bring:
Solar Expertise:
Proven experience in PV system maintenance. An installation background is preferred to identify potential failure points and construction flaws.
Technical Depth:
Strong general electrical background with experience in commissioning and performance validation.
Leadership Mentality:
Ability to mentor junior technicians and work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
Operational Flexibility:
Ability to travel up to 70% of the time and work overtime as required to meet deadlines.
