Responsibilities In the News, Sports and Entertainment Editor roles, hire and train reporters, assign, read, and edit all stories with assistance from assistant editors (if applicable).
Collaborate with reporters and fellow subeditors; coordinate with the Social Media Manager who oversees content on multiple social platforms.
Ensure content may be influenced or changed by the Editor in Chief and that the Chief Copy Editor oversees copy editor interns and volunteers.

Pay Rate $15-15.50/hour
Required Qualifications Be enrolled in a minimum of at least six undergraduate credit hours or 5 graduate credit hours during the current spring semester or upcoming fall semester or 3 credit hours over the summer term and be in good academic and disciplinary standing within Illinois State University.
Preferred Qualifications Have some basic understanding of news reporting, photography, web content, social media, and graphic design, AP Style, editing and other phases of the daily operation of the campus newspaper and its digital platforms.
Work Hours 10 hours per week.
Functional Expectations Must be able to complete the following with or without a reasonable accommodation: effectively communicate on a daily basis.
