Responsibilities Under the supervision of senior professionals, design water and wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, water conveyance systems, booster pump stations, water, and reclaimed wastewater master plans.
Work with senior professionals to specify and design water treatment processes, piping and pumping systems for municipal applications.
Analyze reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geological data.
Calculate cost and determine the feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data.
Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater related projects.
Assist with the preparation and/or modification of reports, specifications, plans, MOPOs, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs.
Inspect the construction site and assist senior professionals with the oversight of the contractors to monitor progress and ensure conformance with engineering plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Under the supervision of senior professionals, assist with client and progress meetings.
Develop reports for process design and hydraulic criteria for conventional surface water treatment, adsorption process for groundwater, membrane systems, and residual handling systems.
Assist with directing construction and maintenance activities at project site.
Minimum Entry Qualifications At least a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a closely related field.
Foreign equivalent degree accepted.
Through bachelors level education, must possess expertise in water system design.
Full licensure as a professional engineer is not required, as employee will be working at all times under the supervision of an Arizona licensed Professional Engineer.
