ABOUT THE ROLE
Temperature Specialists, Inc. is a manufacturer of custom, high-accuracy wire-wound temperature sensors used in industrial and laboratory applications worldwide. We are hiring a Sensor Element Fabricator to join our specialized winding room team — the first and most critical step in our sensor manufacturing process.
In this precision assembly and production operator role, you will fabricate the wire-wound ceramic elements at the core of every RTD temperature sensor we make. This is hands-on, detail-oriented work performed under a microscope using specialized equipment. No prior experience in wire winding or sensor manufacturing is required — we provide comprehensive in-house training. A background in manufacturing, assembly, or production work is a plus.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Operate a specialized wire winding machine under a microscope to precisely wind platinum wire onto ceramic tubes — the foundational step in RTD temperature sensor fabrication
Use diamond wheel cutting equipment to cut ceramic tubes to specified lengths with precision
Perform a high-temperature glassing process using an industrial furnace to coat and seal ceramic sensor elements
Complete small-part assembly operations, including attaching palladium wire connections to finished wire-wound ceramic elements
Use hand tools including tweezers, micro cutters, and heat guns to handle and prepare miniature components throughout the fabrication process
Read and interpret blueprints and work orders; use dimensional measuring equipment to inspect finished elements for quality and dimensional accuracy
Document production output and log completed work orders to support traceability and scheduling across the manufacturing process
Work collaboratively within a small winding room team to meet daily production targets and communicate with downstream assembly departments on schedules and custom part requirements
Support training of new team members as needed; perform routine maintenance and cleaning of winding room equipment
What We’re Looking For
Strong fine motor skills and manual dexterity — you'll be working with very small components and precision equipment daily
Ability to perform close detail work under a microscope for extended periods
High attention to detail and a commitment to consistent, quality output in a production environment
Ability to read and follow blueprints, work prints, and written/verbal instructions accurately
Collaborative attitude and comfort working within a small, xsgimln close-knit team
Prior experience in manufacturing, production assembly, machine operation, or a related trade is preferred but not required — all technical skills specific to this role are developed through our in-house training program
Why Join Temperature Specialists
Work with a specialized, skilled team manufacturing precision products used across diverse industries
Comprehensive in-house training — no prior wire winding or sensor fabrication experience required
Stable, full-time position with a manufacturer of highly specialized, custom-engineered products
Opportunity to develop rare, in-demand skills in precision manufacturing and sensor element fabrication
Requirements:
Compensation details:
