Volunteer: Videographer: Capture “The Hummingbird Soirée: Let’s Rise Together” (
Kindred Bakery BK, New York, NY, United States
Volunteer Videographer / Editor
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro‑bono connections. We are seeking a volunteer videographer/editor to partner with Kindred Bakery BK to create a short, high‑impact storytelling video from our upcoming fundraising event, The Hummingbird Soirée, taking place on April 27, 2026 in NYC. The primary goal of this project is to produce a 1–2 minute highlight video that captures the energy of the event, the voices of our participants, and the broader mission of our organization—building inclusive pathways into the culinary industry for neurodivergent and neurotypical young adults.
The volunteer will assist with:
Filming key moments during the event (approx. 3–4 hours onsite)
Reviewing and organizing footage
Editing a polished highlight video (1–2 minutes)
Optionally creating a few short clips for social media use
Post‑event, we anticipate collaborating over several weeks (2–5 hours per week) to finalize editing, incorporate feedback, and prepare the video for use across fundraising, outreach, and digital platforms. This project will result in a core storytelling asset that we can use to engage donors, partners, and the broader community, helping to expand access to our programs and deepen our impact.
At Kindred Bakery BK, we are working to change what opportunity looks like for young people who have historically been left out of the workforce—particularly those with autism and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Each year, thousands of these young adults age out of school systems and face what many call the “disability cliff,” with limited access to meaningful employment or continued skill‑building. This project will help us tell that story. By creating a powerful, short‑form video from The Hummingbird Soirée, this work will directly support our ability to raise funds, build partnerships, and expand access to our programs. That means more young people gaining confidence, developing skills, and stepping into real opportunities.
Kindred Bakery BK is well‑prepared to support this project and ensure a successful collaboration with a pro‑bono volunteer. We have secured the event venue, confirmed program details, and developed a clear vision for how this video will be used across fundraising, outreach, and storytelling efforts. Our leadership team will be directly involved throughout the project, providing timely feedback, clear direction, and access to participants, staff, and event moments that best reflect our mission. Following completion, the final video will be actively implemented across our website, social media platforms, grant proposals, and donor communications to strengthen engagement and expand support for our programs. We are committed to being responsive, organized, and collaborative, and we value the volunteer’s time and expertise.
