OverviewThe Home Infusion/Specialty Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients. Performs sterile and non-sterile compounding. Other tasks include, but are not limited to, filling, referral coordination, communicating with patients and their families, labeling and delivery, cleaning of pharmacy area, inventory management, processing and filling prescriptions and supplies. Software used: CPR+, NewLeaf, Epic, OneTrack, and TherigySTM. Hours may vary depending upon census and program need. Certified Pharmacy Technician within 2 years of license issue date (IL) - VariesVaries, Education:, Work Experience: ResponsibilitiesAccurately prepares and submits purchase orders and requisitions for drugs and supplies. Answers the telephone, takes messages, and directs calls to appropriate personnel. Assists in the coordination and completion of the annual inventory. Assists pharmacist in coordinating/scheduling preparation of sterile admixtures. Prepares and generates batch for preparation of sterile admixtures. Completes pharmaceutical records and other records as indicated. Ensures the clean room, warehouse, and related equipment are cleansed and maintained per organizational policy and procedures. Generates labels and packages in accordance with the dispensing order and under the supervision of a pharmacist. Maintains a thorough and accurate clinical record for each patient receiving care.
