Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Fleet Technician (Cranes, Hydraulics, Diesel)

Thorough Built is not looking for a “parts changer.”
We are looking for a
high-level mechanic
who understands the real consequences of the work we do. When our equipment goes out, people are under it. If something fails, it is not just downtime; it is risk. That matters here.
We run cranes, trucks, and heavy equipment daily. We need someone who can
think, troubleshoot, and take ownership , not just follow a checklist.
What You’ll Be Working On
Hydraulic systems (cylinders, pumps, valves, seals, troubleshooting)
Truck cranes, boom trucks, and lifting equipment
Diesel engines (medium & heavy duty)
Trailers, air brake systems, and suspensions
Forklifts and shop equipment
Overhead bridge cranes
Electrical systems and controls
Winches, rigging-related equipment
This is hands-on work. Some days are in the shop, some days are in the field.
What We’re Looking For
Strong
mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting ability
Experience with
heavy equipment, diesel trucks, or cranes
Someone who understands that
details matter
(a backwards seal is not a small mistake here)
Ability to work independently and take ownership of repairs
Willingness to learn and improve across multiple systems
Pride in doing things the right way, not the fast way
Own tools preferred

Bonus Points (Not Required)
CDL
Experience operating cranes or heavy equipment
NCCCO certification
DOT inspection experience
Welding/fabrication experience
