Electrical Engineering Intern (Brooklyn)
Yank Technologies, Inc., Brooklyn, NY, United States
Yank Technologies, Inc. is a wireless power startup in Brooklyn, New York. We develop long-range, high power wireless charging technology. Safe. Simple. No contact required. With patented antenna and amplifier developments in resonant inductive technology, we provide a scalable solution for variable ranges of power and distances. We have multiple mobility, industrial, and space customers for a range of applications, such as wirelessly charging robotic vehicles and vehicle interior electronics.
The Electrical Engineer Intern will support and assist the electrical team with organizing materials, testing, and documenting wireless power subsystems and systems. This role is hands-on and will involve amplifier, DC-DC converter, and AC-DC converter analysis for high-power density applications. This internship is an opportunity to expand your knowledge of wireless power, power electronics, and manufacturing for various industries.
The principal responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer Intern are:
Collect, record, and consistently update data gathered from lab testing
Organize electronic materials for production units and lab studies
Tune coils and update impedance matching networks using smith charts and VNA
Test, analyze, and debug wireless power systems under the guidance of a senior electrical engineer
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience in power electronics design
The ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
US Citizen or US Permanent Resident
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
Passion for creating a wireless world where the state of your battery is not a concern but a mere afterthought
Qualifications Preferred
Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering
Hands-on experience with power electronics systems in multi-megahertz frequencies using SiC/GaN power semiconductors
Prior experience with VNAs, oscilloscopes, and spectrum analyzers
Prior experience with Class D, Class E, or Class E-F amplifier circuits
Prior experience with the following software packages: CST, Altium, LTSpice, and Matlab
Prior experience at a startup
