LOCATION OF (1) POSITION(S) TO BE FILLED: DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT & CONSERVATION, LAWRENCE COUNTY
THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT DAVID CROCKETT STATE PARK IN LAWRENCE COUNTY.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Experience equivalent to
two years
of skilled fulltime labor and trades experience
NSQs : A valid motor vehicle operator's license may be required for employment in some positions.
Overview
Responsible for performing repairs and preventative maintenance at various facilities throughout the park, including campgrounds and residences.
Responsibilities
Repair, replace, or install water lines, gates, concrete, and
other infrastructure items throughout the park.
Operate equipment such as commercial lawn mowers,
backhoe, bucket or forklift, woodchipper.
Operate and maintain small equipment such as chainsaws
and weed eaters; assist with inventory of supplies and equipment.
Power wash and remove garbage and litter from park areas.
Contribute to park initiatives such as recycling and native
landscaping.
Competencies (KSA's)
Knowledge of principles, equipment, and tools involved in fire prevention, grounds maintenance, building maintenance, and cleaning work
Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects and bend, stretch, twist, or reach with one's body, arms, and/or legs
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken or written words and sentences
Ability to communicate information in writing and speaking so others will understand
Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others
Ability to teach others how to do something
Ability to monitor/assess performance of self to make improvements or take corrective action
Ability to troubleshoot to determine causes of operating errors in equipment such as mower, trimmer, vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, or other maintenance and custodial equipment
