
Senior Project Manager - Design Build

Our client, a commercial general contracting and design-build firm established over 50 years, is seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead project teams from their new office in North Olmsted, Ohio.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead the design and construction of commercial projects ranging from $2 million to $10 million, with a strong emphasis on design-build delivery.
Our core work includes churches, schools, medical facilities, and similar institutional/commercial projects, as well as pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB) and related structures. Experience in these project types—or closely related markets—is essential.
You will serve as the primary client contact and take full ownership of project outcomes, including schedule, budget, quality, and client satisfaction. This is an office-based leadership role with regular local site visits (projects are typically within one hour of the office).
Key Responsibilities
Full accountability for project performance including schedule, budget, quality, safety, and client satisfaction
Lead and coordinate project teams including APMs, Superintendents, designers, and subcontractors
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong, trust-based relationships
Drive design-build collaboration , providing input during preconstruction, design development, and value engineering
Manage project execution across all delivery methods, with emphasis on design-build leadership
Oversee buyout, contract administration, cost control, forecasting, and financial performance
Lead change management and ensure proactive, transparent communication with all stakeholders
Mentor and develop Assistant Project Managers into confident, independent leaders
Conduct regular site visits to ensure quality, progress, and alignment with project goals
Qualifications (Must-Have Experience)
7+ years of commercial construction Project Management experience
Direct experience in Design-Build projects is required
Proven experience with churches, schools, medical facilities, pre-engineered metal buildings, or closely related project types
Candidates without this type of experience will not be considered
Demonstrated success delivering projects in the $1M–$10M range (Design-Build)
Strong financial management, subcontractor coordination, and contract administration skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
Relationship-driven leader with strong problem-solving capabilities—not just a task manager
Proficiency with MS Project, Procore, Smartsheet, and Bluebeam preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High attention to detail with strong planning and decision-making abilities
Work Environment & Location
Office-based role in North Olmsted, Ohio
Projects are local (typically within a one-hour radius)
Regular site visits required (can vary by project, often multiple visits per month)
Not a travel-heavy or project-based remote role—consistent in-office presence is required
