Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP is a rapidly growing, national specialty litigation firm seeking an experienced Appeals Coordinator to join our Atlanta, GA office. The Appeals Coordinator is responsible for managing carrier denials and working with attorneys to resolve them. This individual will monitor and analyze insurance notifications, applying them to a shared status tracker, and follow carrier-specific guidelines and appeal processes to dispute any reductions to payments. This role is also responsible for the tracking and reporting of appeal results. The Appeals Coordinator reports directly to the Appeals Operations Manager and works closely with the attorneys in ensuring timely response. Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor insurance carrier deadlines and schedule appeal response accordingly
Collaborate with attorneys and legal assistants to ensure timeliness of appeal processes
Provide guidance regarding appropriate appeal response and respond to attorney inquiries
Prepare and review the appeal response to ensure all items are accurate
Submit appeal and documents via client E-billing sites
Notify attorneys of appeal results
Track and maintain spreadsheet identifying appeal results by carrier for reporting to Firm management
Produce high quality, high volume work by leveraging in self-motivation and initiative
Submit credit memo requests for items not appealed or denied
Other duties as required

Education, Experience, and Skills:
Two years in Insurance Carrier Appeals (carrier client deductions on invoices)
Experience in E-Billing also considered
Bachelors’ Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other related field of study
Insurance collections experience in a law firm a plus
Experience with E-billing vendor sites (LegalX, T360, etc.) preferred
Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills required
