Build What Others Only Design
Construction Design Engineer , you’ll go beyond traditional design work and play a key role in how projects actually get built. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you’ll support complex construction efforts across the Midwest, including rail transit, bridges, and industrial projects.
This is a unique opportunity to work on the temporary works and construction engineering side — solving real‑time challenges, supporting field execution, and seeing your designs come to life in the field.
What You’ll Work On
Designing temporary structures such as falsework, formwork, and cofferdams
Developing construction access solutions, including temporary bridges
Performing bridge analysis for equipment loading, erection, and demolition sequencing
Designing hydraulic systems for controlled movement and positioning
Supporting rigging and lifting plans through engineering analysis
Evaluating barge and equipment stability during construction operations
Designing safety systems to support complex field activities
Producing clear, detailed construction and shop drawings (CAD)
Why This Role Stands Out
Work on the “how it gets built” side of engineering, not just theoretical design
Gain exposure to field‑driven problem solving and construction execution
Be part of a team that supports complex, high‑impact infrastructure projects
Opportunity to learn directly from experienced engineers and construction leaders
See your work implemented in real time on active job sites
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Interest in construction engineering, structural design, or temporary works
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn
Recent graduates are encouraged to apply — this is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in a specialized and highly valuable area of engineering.
Who This Is Perfect For
Engineers who want to be closer to construction and field execution
Candidates interested in bridges, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects
Those who enjoy problem‑solving and variety, not repetitive design work
Compensation: $75,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
