Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain backend services using Python and serverless architectures (AWS Lambda or equivalent).
Define and enforce best practices for writing concise, robust, and maintainable functional‑style code.
Architect event‑driven systems leveraging AWS and other modern cloud platforms.
Write and maintain unit and integration tests, adopting test‑driven development (TDD) practices.
Collaborate with architects, product managers, data, QA, and frontend teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Participate in code reviews, contribute to technical discussions, and help shape best practices within the team.
Continuously identify opportunities for performance optimization and code quality improvements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
8+ years of professional experience in Python backend development.
Deep experience building serverless / Lambda‑based systems (e.g., AWS Lambda).
Strong experience with functional programming paradigms (lambda expressions, closures, higher‑order functions, map/filter/reduce).
Solid skills in unit testing, mocking, and TDD.
Excellent debugging, profiling, and performance‑tuning skills.
Strong understanding of modular software design, including extensibility, error handling, and resilience.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross‑functional remote teams.
Familiarity with AWS services such as DynamoDB, API Gateway, S3, and CloudWatch is highly advantageous.
This is a
fully remote position ; however, candidates must be
based in regions that align with the Pacific, Central, or Eastern U.S. time zones
to ensure effective collaboration with client and team schedules.
